Home Networking That Works in Big Homes

Networking is your foundation. We design and install whole-home ecosystems (wired + mesh) engineered for real-world load — not just speed tests.

Professional network design, installation, and stabilization across Central PA

Why Home Wi-Fi Fails

  • The "Extender" Trap: Why cheap plug-in extenders cut speeds in half and create bottlenecks.
  • Physics Matters: Why a single ISP router (even a "powerful" one) physically cannot penetrate thick walls or cover 3,000+ sq. ft. effectively.
  • Dead Zones: Addressing signal drops in basements, mechanical rooms, garages, and outdoor spaces.
  • Hardware vs. Software: Why "plastic boxes" from big-box stores crash under the heavy load of modern smart homes (50+ devices).

Professional Mesh Wi-Fi & Home Network Installation

  • Design whole-home network architecture

  • Improve Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones

  • Prepare the network for cameras, access systems, and future expansion

  • Install and configure wired and mesh systems properly

  • Most Wi-Fi failures aren't device issues. Poor wiring, incorrect topology, and interference cause these drops. We fix the root cause, not the symptoms. We focus on fixing the root cause, not masking symptoms.
You don’t need to plan a full smart home project. Most clients start with just fixing Wi-Fi or network stability

The Nestology Installation Process

The 4-Step Engineering Approach:

Survey & Design
No guessing. We analyze floor plans and RF congestion using professional Heatmaps
Hardwired Backbone
We prioritize Ethernet-wired Access Points (Cat6/6A) for maximum throughput. No messy, dangling wires
Hardware Deployment
We use professional gear (Ubiquiti UniFi, Ruckus) - built for performance and long-term uptime, not just low price
Tuning & Handoff
Fine-tuning channels and transmit power for seamless roaming. Simple app control for the client

Network Hardware We Install

Nestology installs enterprise-grade networking hardware sized for residential use. No consumer routers. No plug-in extenders.

Ubiquiti UniFi: Our primary platform for most projects. UniFi access points (U6 Pro, U6 Enterprise) deliver consistent coverage across 3,000-6,000 sq ft homes. UniFi switches handle PoE power for cameras and access points through a single cable. The UniFi Network Controller gives you a single dashboard for every device, client, and traffic flow in your home.

Ruckus: For clients who need the highest RF performance in difficult environments - thick concrete walls, heavy interference, or extreme device density. Ruckus adaptive antenna technology adjusts beam patterns in real time. We deploy Ruckus in commercial-grade residential projects.

TP-Link Omada: A strong alternative for budget-conscious projects. Omada access points and managed switches offer VLAN support, PoE, and centralized management at a lower price point. Same enterprise architecture, different budget.

For the backbone, we run Cat6 or Cat6a cabling to every access point, camera, and network switch. No wireless backhaul between access points - wired connections eliminate the speed loss that mesh systems create when they relay traffic wirelessly. We terminate all cables to a patch panel in your structured wiring closet or utility room.

What Every Nestology Network Includes

Every network we install ships with these components - no add-ons, no surprise charges:

VLAN Segmentation: We separate your network into isolated zones - one for your computers and phones, one for IoT devices (cameras, locks, sensors), and one for guest access. If a smart bulb gets compromised, it cannot reach your laptop. This is standard in commercial networks and we bring it to residential.

PoE Infrastructure: Power over Ethernet runs power and data through a single cable to access points and cameras. No outlet hunting. No plug-in adapters. Fewer failure points.

UPS Protection: A battery backup on your network switch and router keeps your internet, cameras, and smart home running during power outages. Most outages last under an hour - your network stays up the whole time.

Cable Management: Every cable is labeled, tested, and terminated to a patch panel. We fish cables through attic spaces and crawl spaces without opening drywall. Your network closet looks clean and every connection is traceable.

Why Home Networking Comes First

Who This Is For, And Who It’s Not

This solution is for you if:

  • You want reliable Wi-Fi across your entire home
  • You plan to install security cameras or smart home systems
  • You value long-term reliability over quick fixes
  • You want a network designed as infrastructure, not a patch
This may not be the right fit if:

  • You only want a basic router setup
  • You are looking for the cheapest possible solution
  • You do not plan to expand beyond basic internet use

Most home networking problems are not caused by devices. They are caused by network design. When a home network is designed as infrastructure, everything built on top of it - security cameras, smart devices, automation - works more reliably.

If something in your home network doesn’t feel right, we can start with a simple review and go from there
